Social inclusion

SANOP works with the regional prison services on programs that target both inmates and officers and intend to empower them to identify areas of improvement in prison health services. Trainings have been conducted targeting the staff in prisons on social accountability and the tools used in harvesting information. Scorecards have been used to determine inmates’ priorities which range from SRHR, nutritional and adequate food, poor sanitation and HIV related treatment and services.

Our work goes beyond the identification of areas requiring service providers’ attention to ultimately holding relevant authorities to account where they fall short.
