This is an important dimension of organizational development. Capacity building is beyond ensuring institutions have the required technical personnel and policies, it is a strategic and operational approach to technical assistance. SANOPs objective is to improve the performance of institutions, aligning them to their mandate.
How?
Our strategy is simple. We capacitate organizations to be able to strengthen their organizational governance by developing strategic documents such as constitutions and other operational policies ad systems. Institutions are

Institutional strengthening Projects
Capacity Assessments for Ex-Prisoner Associations
To better understand the needs of the prison population, capacity assessment was pivotal for SANOP to measure the level of decision-making and understanding of the consequences it came with.
Establishment of Youth Clubs
To facilitate addressing challenges faced by ex-young offenders and improve coordination of interventions, SANOP recommended and prioritised establishing Youth Clubs across the SANOP countries where local leaders and SANOP Chapter members would mentor Club members and assist them to access resources to empower them and facilitate their integration.
SANOPโs Youth Entrepreneurship Drive
SANOP initiated the โYouth Entrepreneurshipโ component under its programming, aimed at equipping the young offenders with business training and start viable small businesses as a sure way to reduce chances of reoffending.
