SANOP eSwatini Chapter
In eSwatini, an elected 11-member Steering Committee would act as custodian of all SANOP governance and activities in the country. Based on the needs identified for SANOP, program focus was on:
• Capacity training assessments
• Capacity building sessions for ex-inmate associations and other SANOP members
• Crime sensitizations amongst young people, motivational talks from ex-offenders in schools and targeted communities
• SRHR and Health training and sensitization for prisoners and ex-inmates
• Introduce ex-inmates’ associations to HMC
• Establish a SANOP technical working group and conduct meetings with stakeholders working in correctional facilities
• Distribute dignity packs in selected HMC

Capacity Assessments for Ex-Prisoner Associations
For instance, in March 2020, a total of six (6) ex-inmate’s associations underwent capacity assessments exercises offered by SANOP.
Eswatini: Crime Sensitization
SANOP Eswatini visited the rural community of Maphungwane in Siteki. The community engagement activity took place in St Paul’s and Peter’s Church and aimed to equip the community, particularly the youth, with knowledge pertaining to various areas of life including crime prevention and life skills education.
